Negative...

I haven't posted this week, I have been so busy.

I tested on Sunday at 11dpiui and it was a BFN (Big Fat Negative)

I then retested on 13dpiui and another BFN. I didn't do betas because I am out of town so I continued my progesterone and estrogen until 16dpiui and retested. I would have done betas if I had gotten a second line. Another BFN. I quit the meds and AF (period) started last night. It is painful, I guess from all the meds.

This cycle we will not TTC, I will be out of town the entire cycle. Next cycle, we will do the SMEP (sperm meets egg plan) We will BD (baby dance) every other day from CD7 until a positive OPK, then everyday for 3 days, then every other day for another 3 days. If no BFP (big fat positive), we will do IUI with back to back IUIs.

I feel this last cycle was a bust because we missed ovulation. I normally ovulate the day after I trigger, but we did the IUI 2 days later.  The night before IUI, I felt ovulation pains so I know I ovulated about 18 hours before IUI. Hence why I am requesting back to back IUIs to make sure we don't miss it again. We will do 2 IUIs and if nothing IVF next March or April. We might do another IUI before the IVF, but not sure yet.

10DPIUI

Hi, I am now 10dpiui. My temp plummeted 2 days ago and is now back up to 99.00. I will be taking an HPT tomorrow. Keep us in your prayers that we see 2 lines. I am out of town right now so I will have to give Miguel the news on the phone or Skype. I am so nervous.

This is my chart for this month:

Hopefully, I will post pics of a BFP tomorrow!

IUI was Today...

Ok so I had my first IUI today. The actual procedure did not hurt, but I had horrible bloating, cramps, and a low grade fever afterwards. This went on for about 5 hours. The fever went up to 100.4 so I sent an email to my RE about it. He said that it can be caused from ovulation when it is more than one follicle. He told me to take Buscapina for the cramps and fever. Buscapina is a Tylenol® like medicine with a stomach inflammation med included. I also took some GasX because a lot of people told me that gas is a big problem after IUI. I am feeling better, but not 100% yet. Hopefully, by tomorrow.

As for the IUI. We arrived at 8:30 this morning for Miguel to provide the semen sample. We had to return 2 hours later for the IUI. I went in immediately upon entering the room, the Dr said that Miguel had awesome numbers! Miguel's pre-wash count was 963 million and post-wash was 519 million!! The RE tried to convince him to be a donor, but he said he would think about it. We agreed that he will donate, but first we have to get our sticky bean. He said I would feel a slight cramp when he inserted the tube, but I only felt an odd sensation when he injected the sperm. He then moved the bed practically upside down and had me close my legs for 10 minutes. The whole process from entering the room to leaving the room was about 20 minutes.

I have betas (pregnancy test that counts the amount of pregnancy hormone) on July 3. I am pretty sure that I will test before then, but blood tests are then. I am so excited, but so worried that I will have to go through this again next month.

I am on Estrogen 2mg until  further notice as well as 200 mg Progesterone until AF or 12 weeks.

Tomorrow is IUI!!!

Saturday, June 8 I started my injections.

My protocol was:

Cycle days(CD) 3 &4 75iu Merapur (Menopur)  and 75iu Gonal F
Cycle days 5-8 75iu Merapur
Cycle day 10 monitoring

Well, I started my injectables on CD3 and I quickly learnt that you should let the Merapur sit for at least 10 minutes before injecting it. It burns bad if you inject it right after mixing.

The bloating was not as bad as with the Clomid in the beginning. I had absolutely no bloating from Cd 3-10. I went for my ultrasound to check my follicles on CD10. I had 3 follicles, 1 15mm and 2 16mm. My RE prescribed 2 more Merapur shots for CD 10 & 11. I was told to use the Choragon which is like Ovidrel in the US. This is a shot based with HCG hormone to induce ovulation. Anyway, I was told to inject it on CD 12 at 6PM. I was also prescribed Primogyn 2mg which is Estrogen, I am to take it twice a day for 14 days. I will get my Progesterone prescription and orders tomorrow.

We go in tomorrow morning for IUI. We have to be there at 8AM for Miguel to provide his part (the sperm). Then, we have to return 2 hours later for IUI. I am so excited, but so nervous.

A million things are going through my head. I am confident about this cycle, but I am still so scared it won't work. I am praying and begging God to please give us our take home baby.

RIP LIl bro...

The same day we got our injectable cycle planned, my little brother was killed in a car accident. The post about this is here: RIP Lil Brother

I postponed the cycle and came home to Georgia to say good bye to my little brother who was my only brother. I am devastated, but we plan to start a new cycle next month. My brother was very excited about my pregnancy before I miscarried so I know he would want us to start back again as soon as possible. I should be starting the first week of June. Please keep us in your prayers.

An Introduction

My name is Stephanie and my husband's name is Miguel. I am 34 and he is 26. I have 2 wonderful children, J, 11 and L, 9 from a previous marriage who love Miguel as their father. Miguel is a great dad and I can't wait to have a child with him.

I had a tubal ligation on July 11, 2003. I tied my tubes because of a rocky marriage that I doubted would last. 2 years later, we separated. In March 2007, I met Miguel in a night club. I knew he was young and didn't plan on a relationship with him. 2 months later that all changed, we started dating and 6 months later we moved in together. The kids were in love with him from the day they met 3 months after we started dating. We got engaged on Valentine's Day 2009, cliche I know, but that is Miguel. We got married November 20, 2010. On March 13, 2011 we moved to Mexico.

We had been planning a tubal reversal since 2008, but things kept stopping us. Finally on March 5, 2012, I had my tubal reversal done.

In April 2012, we immediately started TTC. We started off using 100mg Clomid for 3 months and not one BFP. 6 months later in September, I got my first BFP (Big Fat Positive), it turned out to be a CP (chemical pregnancy). I didn't get another BFP until December, it was another CP. In January, we went to another RE (reproductive endocronoligist) becasue we had moved. He ran some tests and found that I had Ureaplasma and Mycoplasma, both diseases were curable and both cause early miscarriages. He put us both on antibiotics for a month. In February 2013, I had an HSG done to check that my tubes were open. My left one was completely blocked, but the right one was completely open. We had moved back to Monterrey and I started back with my original RE who did my surgery. She put me on 100mg Clomid CDs (cycle days) 4-8, 75iu Menopur (injectable) CDs 7 & 9, Ovidrel (ovulation trigger shot), and progesterone 200mg from 3DPO (days past ovulation). I got my BFP, my betas (pregnancy hormone) was 20 at 14DPO. They doubled like they should on 16DPO to 40. When I was 5 weeks 1 day pregnant, I had an ultrasound and we could see the sac, it was not completely developed, but it coincided with the dates. I then went in to get another beta at 5 weeks 3 days, it was only 160. It should have been at least 400 if it had doubled every 48 hours as it should. My RE told me not to stress. We did another ultrasound on Saturday 5 weeks 6 days. The sac hadn't changed at all. She did see that I had a cyst on my right ovary which looked to have tissue in it so she suspected an ovarian ectopic. She sent me for betas and told me to prepare to need surgery. My betas were down to 20, thank God! It turned out that the sac quit developing and the cyst was just a corpus lutem cyst. I started bleeding when I should have been  6 weeks 1 day pregnant. I started BCP, (birth control pills) as well to get rid of the cyst.

I am now on my last BCP so I expect my period by the end of this week. We will get started on treatment again this cycle. I believe we will follow the same protocol, but up the progesterone to 300mg a day, but that will be confirmed when I go to the RE for my base ultrasound.
